Fivecat Studio was commissioned to add a second level, with a new great room and master bedroom suite, to a nondescript ranch style home built in the 1970's. The main level was reconfigured to allow more natural light and visual access to the backyard. The kitchen was relocated and renovated to include a family dining area with direct access to the new stone patio. The existing den was opened to the new kitchen, creating a small family room complete with a renovated fireplace. The exterior of the home was fully renovated and converted to the contemporary style requested by the clients.
